Scavenger Hunt

Did someone in your group emerge as a leader? Was this helpful?
No one in our group became the leader, but it didn’t help or hurt us. Instead, we came up with our ideas, filmed, and performed the activities together.

Did your group waste a lot of time trying to decide what to do next?
We didn’t waste much time at all. It would only take us a minute or so to decide where to go next. The most amount of time we spent in one place was about 5 minutes while we were waiting for a teacher that we wanted to include in the video.

How did the team decide where to go and what to do?
Our team just kept referring to the list, and as soon as someone thought of an idea, we went for it. A deciding factor of where we went was also the time we had, so we made sure we didn’t go anywhere far in order to get back to class on time.

Did you split the team at any point?

No because a couple of the items to record required the whole group and there were only two of us so we didn’t really have a reason to split up.

Advice to Incoming Freshies

Being in middle school, everything seems to be all figured out and moving to the next level won’t be so different. Same people, different location, right? Nope. As much as I hated accepting the fact at first, but, life doesn’t make exceptions with throwing obstacles at you. Everything changes each year and you have to adapt.
It was hard leaving some people in the past but I’m glad I did. Don’t waste time being lost about the change and what it means and listen to where your heart is yearning to go. Being alone is not a bad thing, you should honestly cherish the time and see what you want in life and care about what you want and not others. The big problem when I had a big clan was that I couldn’t hear my thoughts over their voices and that’s a problem because I am my own person and no voice matters over your own.

Being alone does not make you a loner, it gives you freedom to do as you desire. Go and mingle with whoever you want, make friends, get to know staff (may be strange but it is good to know more people at school), get ahead on work, etc. The possibilities are endless! Going back in time, my freshman self would tell you to not focus on popularity and focus on yourself and your future. You may have heard this before, but half of the people you walk in with don’t come out with you. I hope you make the greatest decisions during this time and good luck.

Collateral Beauty Day

Love
You have made me feel the best and worst things in life. At first, I didn't really know who you were but I have a feeling I'm getting to know you more each year. However, you have made me grow most important of all. Thank you for keeping my family together through all the times together and thank you for bringing in my best friend Grace, it might not seem like it but she is truly the greatest friend I've had. And by bringing Jonny in my life, that was great. Even when I wasn't looking for you, you gifted me anyways. He is the biggest pain but my source of happiness aside from my family. Also, building my relationship with my dog, Eve. Thanks.

Death
You don't scare me but you do worry me so much. My family has lost important people recently and I don't want any more to leave us. You are a part of life but I will miss my parents so much when you come. Try to wait as long as you can for those two because they need to see what beautiful big family they've created. After everything you put me through, I forgive you. Overall, you taught me that nothing is for sure and that it really is a waste to take people for granted. So, thank you for helping me centering the great values in life and how to live life the right way. Family is forever.

Time
Honestly, I don't know what to think when it comes to you. I'm confused. You make it seem like you're a long stretch but you go by so fast. Way too fast. You made four years flash in a blink of an eye. I am mixed between wanting to fast forward and pausing right now but as I contemplate, you still move on with or without me.

Legacies Update

Success Rates:

1. Get signed to a great volleyball team.
I have not yet been signed to any teams, a majority of schools I applied to are D1 so I may have to try out as a walk-on this summer.
2. Don't be tardy.
Last semester I was late a lot, I will have to try and be on time at school more this second semester.
3.Get closer to my AA degree.
I have achieved this goal. With my VVC dual-enrollment, I passed all of my college classes with A's and those count towards my General Ed.
4. Go to more sports and school club events.
This goal may have to change because my volleyball travel team has practices whenever there is a high school sports game going on. However, I have gotten to talk to many teams due to yearbook.
5. Have straight A's in HHS classes.
First semester I had only one B and the rest of my classes were A's. Next semester I'll have all A's.

Would You Rather...

  • Would you rather have the power of invisibility OR flight?
Pros of having the power of invisibility are that wherever you go you can go everywhere for free! No one will ever know! However, the con of that is that no one will know you're there and you might be forever alone. I can fly anywhere, anytime! But the scary part is that I could really go into space and just float around in space forever and then NASA will find me saying, “Oh look it's Becca!” and I'd be like “Hey, I'm stuck”.

I feel like the power to fly would be the better option for me because just in case a big earthquake happens here in California, I can fly off the ground and stay in the sky until the coast is clear.

  • Would you rather know when you’re going to die OR how you’re going to die?
Knowing when I'm going to die I can prepare the time range and know how long I have in order to do everything I want in life, such as: having Betty White be my third granny, go diving with my squirrel suit, figure out who's responsible for the Mandala Effect, expose the government, co-host with Ellen, etc. I’d probably overthink about time and dig myself in a hole. I would go into a deep hibernation until my doomsday.
Pros of knowing how I'm going to die is that I can brace myself for any type of pain that I’ll be going through. The cons of this are that I'd probably be thinking about it too much and I tried to avoid it but in the end, I'd probably just make it worse anyways in the whole situation.

I would rather know when I'm going to die because I can see how much time I have to do everything I mentioned above. Plus, I can just let my reason of death be a surprise and hit me later.

You Know You're Tired When...

You know you are tired when...
You try making toast and the toaster isn't even plugged in.
You look at the clock and it's 7:15 but you convince yourself it's 6:15 so you can sleep longer.
You try putting the cereal box away but there's no room in the fridge for a box.
Your cat comes into to room staring into your soul and you could feel the feline judging you.
You freak out that someone is in the house to kidnap you but it's just the voices on the TV.
You see gummy bears expressing emotion.
You dream of waking up but realizing 5 minutes later you're still glued to bed.
You're late for school but realize it's a Saturday after you enter your car.
You forget your dog slept inside and think a monster is finally coming after you.
